Banking Exam Preparation Strategy: Quant, Reasoning and English
· admin
Banking exams reward a combination of accuracy, speed and disciplined practice. A good preparation system should therefore combine concept building, timed questions, sectional tests and regular analysis.
Quantitative Aptitude
Build arithmetic fundamentals first: percentages, ratio, averages, profit and loss, interest, time and work, time-speed-distance and data interpretation. Once concepts are comfortable, practise mixed sets under time limits.
Reasoning
Cover inequality, syllogism, coding-decoding, alphanumeric series, direction sense and then move towards puzzles and seating arrangements. Track both accuracy and time taken.
English
Develop reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, cloze tests and error detection together. Daily reading can improve comprehension while question practice converts that improvement into marks.
Current affairs and banking awareness
Maintain short revision notes and revise them repeatedly. Focus on understanding important banking and economic developments rather than trying to memorise every news item.
Mock-test strategy
Use sectional tests to identify weak areas and full-length mocks to practise the complete exam environment. Your analysis should record accuracy, time per question and recurring mistakes.
