RAS Current Affairs and Issues with Special Reference to Rajasthan

Structured preparation resources for India's competitive examinations.

Current affairs should not become a pile of copied headlines. The purpose is to understand why an event matters, which institution or policy it involves, how it connects to the syllabus and what evidence can support an answer. This guide follows the current-affairs headings in the RPSC RAS Prelims syllabus dated 9 January 2026.

1. Important personalities, places and contemporary issues

For a personality, record the person’s role, the contribution or achievement, the institution or field involved and the date or context where relevant. For an important place, understand its geographic, cultural, economic, environmental or strategic significance. For a contemporary issue, summarise the background, what changed, affected stakeholders and likely implications.

2. Newly launched schemes, programmes and initiatives

Use a fixed scheme card: official name; department; launch or revision date; objective; eligible beneficiaries; benefit or service; implementation mechanism; application channel; and official source. Distinguish a scheme announcement from formal guidelines and actual implementation. If a benefit amount or eligibility rule changes, replace the old note and preserve the date of verification.

3. Major economic and political developments

Read developments through the relevant syllabus concept. A Budget announcement connects to fiscal policy; an RBI decision connects to monetary policy; a court judgment connects to constitutional interpretation; an election reform connects to representation and accountability. Write the facts first, then explain significance and limitations without overstating what one announcement can achieve.

4. Sports, awards, publications and authors

Maintain separate monthly lists for major sporting events, important achievements, national and state awards, notable publications and authors. Verify names, categories, dates and award years from official organisers or reliable institutional sources. Similar award names and announcement years can cause avoidable errors.

5. Rajasthan Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2022

This is explicitly listed in the RPSC Prelims syllabus. Study the Act from the official legislative text: purpose, scope, definitions, prohibited conduct, offences, enforcement provisions and penalties. Do not rely on a short news report for legal wording, and distinguish the Act itself from rules, amendments, government orders or later judicial developments.

A reliable current-affairs note in six lines

  1. What happened, and on what date?
  2. Which government, court, institution or organisation is involved?
  3. What is the background?
  4. Which syllabus topic does it connect to?
  5. What are the likely benefits, risks or implementation challenges?
  6. Which official source confirms the facts?

Weekly revision method

At the end of each week, merge duplicate stories, remove details that no longer matter, and connect each item to one static syllabus heading. Try to explain the issue aloud without looking at the note. For Mains, add a balanced way forward; for Prelims, check exact names, dates, institutions and provisions.

Use the Acadvik Current Affairs page and Previous Days’ Current Affairs & MCQs for revision. Always verify changing scheme details and current facts against official sources.
